Thanks for the kind words, we’d be happy to help! We ported Guacamaelee, Blek & Electronic Super Joy to Wii U.īroken Rules previously developed many titles, including Yet It Moves, Secrets of Raetikon, and perhaps most notibly Chasing Aurora. Their claim to fame, however, lies mainly in their exquisite execution of Wii U ports. Perhaps Undertale’s future might lie in the Wii U afterall? However, while these tweets might come across as just the daydreams of an imaginative indie developer, they started to gain some traction when indie game developers at Broken Rules reached out to Fox to offer a helping hand.

Fox even brings up the question of how Undertale could affect the Miiverse–and knowing Undertale fans, if given the chance, they would take full advantage of it! If brought to the Wii U, players would have a chance to utilize the console’s gamepad, perhaps bringing many new possibilities to gameplay. In most cases, the game would have to be reprogrammed from scratch.ĪLSO if there was a Wii U port do you think all the UNDERTALE Miiverse posts would finally have a home? Or would it just spread them more? I actually already talked to Nintendo about a port months ago… ^^ īut Game Maker (what I use) doesn't export to any Nintendo platforms. That way, the environment can be explored in different directions.

The twist is that next to regular movement (left, right, jumping), the player is also able to rotate the game world in instances of ninety degrees, both left and right. Below are tweets where Fox relents he would need a helping hand to complete the port. He seemed both excited at the possibility, and resigned that it may just not currently be in his realm of possibilities. Just yesterday on February 4th, indie game titan Undertale creator/developer Toby Fox took to twitter to express his interest, and doubts, in a Wii U port of his popular game.
